Would you like to eat with the family yet be able to enjoy a healthy meal? If so, then low carbohydrate food is a good choice as it’s easy to cook healthy, tasty meals for you and the rest of your family. Here are some tips:

Low Carbohydrate bread

This is a good replacement for regular sandwiches. Buy low-carb bread for yourself and freeze in 2 or 3 slices. This way you have fresh, low-carbohydrate bread to use every day. Your family can eat regular bread but they may prefer the low carb option too!

Crackers

Low-carb crackers are ideal cracker replacements that you can always have to hand.. They are also suitable for the rest of the family, but certainly as a variation to sandwiches and, for example, as a snack.

Breakfast cereal

If you like yogurt mixed with muesli, Atkins is a good low-carb alternative. Choose the full fat yogurt or Greek yogurt 10%. Of course the rest of the family can eat this tasty muesli.

An easy lunch

For lunch the choice is great: low-carbohydrate bread, salads, vegetable omelette or soup. With the Atkins wraps, lunch becomes even more varied and easier. Fill the wrap with cream cheese, avocado, salmon, rocket or anything else that you like. The wrap is easy to prepare in advance and is easy to take with you to work.

Vegetables

Buy extra vegetables. This can also be raw vegetables, canned vegetables or frozen vegetables. All types of vegetables are welcome, as long as they are low carb. The leftovers are good to use in the salad, soup or omelette for the next day.

Potatoes for the family

Count and peel the number of potatoes you need (for example 3 per person) and no more. That way you don't have any leftovers that you could eat, the family eats the potatoes and you eat the extra vegetables.

Pasta and rice for the family

Are you a lover of pasta and rice, nowadays good alternatives are available. Consider the low carbohydrate penne from Atkins, but also the courgette strips,, cauliflower and broccoli rice are healthy and tasty substitutes for carbohydrate-rich pasta and rice. You only have to replace the pasta or the rice, the sauce you make is the same for everyone.

Atkins snacks

Low carbohydrate eating will reduce the need for sweet foods. If you still want something sweet with low carbohydrates, you can opt for an Atkins Snack. Atkins offers 17 types of bars and 3 flavors of Ready To Drink shakes.

Savoury snacks

Low-carb snacks are often appreciated by family members. Instead of sweet snacks you eat a low carbohydrate diet mainly savory snacks. Examples include pickles, olives, cheese cubes, French cheese, meats, fish, nuts, raw vegetables with a dip, avocado.

Low carbohydrate eating is healthy eating. Everyone can eat low carb and have great, tasty options. By replacing a few meal items, but especially with more vegetables and savory snacks, carbohydrate-restricted eating is an easy responsible lifestyle for the entire family.
