Turkey is a lean choice of protein, yet retains its taste and using fresh basil makes this dish very special!

Ingredients
  • 200 gram tinned diced tomatoes
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • 1 red onion
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 400 gram ground turkey
  • 2 tablespoon fresh basil
  • 50 gram Atkins penne, raw
Method

Slice the onion and sauté in the cooking oil. Add the crushed garlic and cook for one minute longer. Add the turkey mince and stir whilst cooking, until browned slightly then add the tinned tomatoes, add more water if you want more sauce.

In the meantime cook the penne in boiling water until al dente. In the last few minutes, add the torn basil leaves. Serve the turkey and sauce over the cooked pasta.
